Save Mumbai From Dirty Politics

In last few months, I have been hearing a lot of news over who really owns Mumbai. I am a Mumbaikar and have been born and brought up in the city. I love this city like my home and I think it is one of the greatest cities in the world because it is never bias to any one group of people. The city provides food, clothing and shelter to anyone who embraces this city with love. However, in last few decades we have seen that dirty politics have led to many minor and major problems in the city. I guess the reason for this kind of dirty politics going on in the city is not because politicians want to takeover the city which is the financial hub of the country, but because we Mumbaikars are silently watching our city being burned down by these filthy politicians.

In my last three decades, I had never heard such a question so why are we today asking ourselves who owns Mumbai when we all know that Mumbai is a part of India and it belongs to each and every Indian. Of course, we take great pride that Mumbai is in Maharashtra, but even the word Maharashtra has a word Rashtra in it and we should not forget that it is our Mumbai that fuels the progress of India and if we can lead Mumbai towards progress than we can take India to the next level of progress.

It is really sad to know that political parties today are dividing us further based on language and regionalism. These politicians that often talk about the development of Maharashtra and Mumbai have contributed very little, infact nothing for the development of Maharashtra. Have they opened up a single Marathi school in Mumbai with their own goddamn money? Are their kids studying in Marathi-medium schools and colleges? These politicians are nothing but parasites looking to get some media attention and a good chunk of money to support their party agendas through such stupid issues that really don't make any sense. It is high time that Mumbaikars should realize that our city has gone in wrong hands and we need to voice out our thoughts intelligently to combat such kind of internal-terrorism that is eroding the very essence and spirit of Mumbai.
